We were asked by Lightfoot to help them create an innovative solution for one of the UK’s largest grocery retailers. The goal was to not only enhance employee performance but also achieve significant cost savings for the retailer. We collaborated with Lightfoot to develop a product that integrated into the retailer’s large scale operations and that could scale effectively across their wider business.

Rooted in behavioural science, we architected and built a gamification and rewards-driven software that put employees at the heart of the solution. The app motivated employees to meet their KPI goals and win weekly prizes, aligning them with key business objectives. It integrated a range of performance-based metrics, behaviours, and daily tasks, all within one simple platform.

At its core, the system was powered by a highly scalable, distributed micro-system capable of processing thousands of live KPI data points per minute. This enabled the software to deliver real-time insights and support performance tracking without delays, ensuring that employees always had up-to-date data to guide their actions.

The engaging interface fostered a fun, social, and gamified work environment, empowering employees to take ownership of their performance. Instant feedback on how they were tracking and rewards for reaching their goals cultivated a positive work culture and encouraged key behaviours for optimal business performance.

The retailer achieved a 10x ROI and £10 million in performance related savings. The software was rolled out across all of their UK stores as well as across other business functions. Not only did our solution save time and money, it increased employee engagement and drove positive change throughout the organisation.
