The challenge
Peppermint Technology, a leader in modernising law firm practices, faced a significant challenge when Microsoft discontinued the Silverlight framework—a key part of their existing solution. Their legal clients, who had relied on this technology for years, needed a modern, reliable alternative.
While Peppermint already had a large and capable engineering team, they were at capacity and unable to take on the project internally, especially given the tight timeline. The project also required deep expertise in Microsoft technologies, which they didn’t have fully in-house. Compounding the challenge, their usual technology partner, who they relied on for projects like this, wasn’t able to step in on this occasion. Time was of the essence, and Peppermint needed a trusted partner to help deliver a seamless transition for their clients without disrupting critical daily operations.
The solution
Within just two weeks, we fully migrated their software from Silverlight to Blazor and C# .Net Web API, Our team of Microsoft technology specialists integrated directly into their existing team and we worked closely to ensure everything was transitioned smoothly, retaining the user-friendly experience their clients relied on—all without causing any disruption to their business or their legal clients.
What began as a focused modernisation project quickly evolved into a long-term partnership, with our team becoming an integral part of Peppermint’s BAU operations. By leveraging our deep understanding of their systems, we’ve streamlined processes, introduced new features, and continue to be a core part of their development team.
The impact
The successful modernisation of Peppermint’s systems was completed with no disruptions to Peppermint’s day to day operations. We also drove significant improvements that enhanced their processes and transformed how they approach development and delivery. A clear sign of this success is their technical lead, who, for the first time, feels confident enough to take a holiday, knowing that everything will run smoothly in their absence.
